Inane Answering Machine Message Day

I am sure I'm not the only one who has started talking after someone says "hey" only to find that they have set up their answering machine like that in order to deceive me!

You can check out a list of them here, but here is one as a little teaser:

Hi, this is John's answering machine again. He's gone and left me for a sleazy microwave he met at Krazy Eddy's. Life sucks.

You know you want to click.

Curmudgeons Day

An annual celebration of the crusty, yet insightful, wags who consistently apply the needle of truth to the balloons of hypocrisy and social norms. Always celebrated on Jan 29, the birthday of W.C. Fields, one of America’s most beloved curmudgeons.
Hurray for a day when I have an excuse to act like a crusty, cranky man!

Thank a PLugin Developer Day!

When I first read this I thought it was talking about like plugins as in electrical sockets, but technology fail for me because today is the day we celebrate the developers of computer plugins.

Just in case you are still confused a plugin is defined by wiki as:a set of software components that adds specific capabilities to a larger software application. If supported, plug-ins enable customizing the functionality of an application. For example, plug-ins are commonly used in web browsers to play video, scan for viruses, and display new file types. Well-known plug-ins examples include Adobe Flash Player and QuickTime.

I have been known to enjoy my Quicktime, so thank you developer of Quicktime
