Trivia trivia trivia

Happy Trivia Day!

I have this theory I made up this very second. Everyone has a secret thing for trivia. Why are they still making versions of Trivial Pursuit? Even if no one buys it, everyone pauses at it on the game aisle. Everyone wants to pursue that trivia. Really, you can fail every test you ever take and as long as you have some trivia memorized, no one will ever believe your IQ is less than 80. Trivia is the key to conversation starters, awkward moments, and getting more cool points than you deserve. So here, enjoy some trivia!!!

+The only part of the human body that has no blood supply is the cornea in the eye. It takes in oxygen directly from the air.

+There's only one city in the United States named merely "Beach." It is found in North Dakota, which is a land-locked state.

+Baskin Robbins once made ketchup ice cream. This was the only vegetable flavored ice cream produced. (vegetable? whatever...)

+In Erwin, Tennessee an elephant was once hanged for murder.

+About 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens each year.

+In 1845, President Andrew Jackson's pet parrot was removed from his funeral for swearing.

+The sandwich is named for the Fourth Earl of Sandwich (1718-92), for whom sandwiches were made so that he could stay at the gambling table without interruptions for meals.

+Donald Duck's middle name is Fauntleroy.

+Time magazine's "Man of the Year" for 1938 was Adolf Hitler.

+Only two people signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, John Hancock and Charles Thomson. Most of the rest signed on August 2, but the last signature wasn't added until 5 years later.

+Certain frogs can be frozen solid then thawed and continue living.
